The character of the 4TOWN band in the movie Turning Red Inspired by BIGBANG and 2PM

Director Domee Shi revealed the character of the group 4★TOWN in the movie Turning Red inspired by BIGBANG and 2PM. He said he was a big fan of the second generation South Korean boy band since he was a student. “I want to recreate the boy group culture that teenage girls like in this film,” said Domee Shi as reported by Billboard Japan some time ago.

“That’s why I thought of making it based on K-pop boy groups, like BIGBANG and 2PM which I liked when I was a student,” he said. He said each member has their own strengths, then often exchanged views. He claimed to be inspired by a legend that can be called the forerunner of the Korean idol boom so far.

The director who won an Oscar for his short film Bao also said the boy band also looks so shiny for a girl of May’s age, the main character of the film Promena (Turning Red). “Through boybands, you can expand your circle of friends. I think it would be very interesting to incorporate them into the story,” he said.

Turning Red tells the story of Meilin Lee or Mei, a 13-year-old girl who is confident, accomplished, and also slang. He has a solid gang with Miriam, Abby, and Priya. All three are big fans of the boyband 4★TOWN. Here are also Disney animated films that you can watch with family:

  1. Encanto
  2.  Zpivej 2 (sing 2)

One morning, Mei’s originally fine life turned into disaster. He suddenly turned into a giant red panda after his emotions overflowed. Mei, who turned into a giant red panda, could only return to being a human if she was able to calm herself down. This then made Mei shy and afraid to interact with other people.

This teenager’s problem also increased when he was about to carry out the ritual of releasing the red panda which turned out to coincide with the 4★TOWN boyband concert.
