The Marvel Universe is a comic universe that has been around for approximately 83 years. During that time, Marvel has presented various interesting stories about epic battles in its universe. It’s been countless how many planets and casualties that fell, before finally each of these events can be resolved. Regardless of how big or small the scale of the battle in the event was, the end result was always gruesome. Of the many events that led to tragedies, here are 7 of them that are famous for being the bloodiest in the Marvel Universe!
Secret Wars included in this list is a major event that occurred in 2015, where the Marvel multiverse was destroyed by the Incursion disaster. Lots of superheroes died in this event, especially when Incursion hit the two remaining planets, namely Earth-616 and Earth-1610. When this great catastrophe ended, a dictator figure emerged who managed to create Battleworld from the remnants of the multiverse, he was God Emperor Doom. Since then more and more battles have taken place, which generally involve multiple superheroes and supervillains at once.
Shortly after the events of Infinity Gauntlet (1991), Adam Warlock and the Infinity Watch team he founded vowed to protect the gauntlet and all of the Infinity Stones. Unfortunately, Warlock’s evil persona named Magus opposes these efforts and triggers the events of Infinity War. In the process Thanos even goes to the extent of helping Warlock to stop the Magus before he causes more chaos. Many powerful characters are involved in this battle, some of which are Doctor Doom, Kang the Conqueror, and even the cosmic entity Galactus.
Age Of Apocalypse
The story of Age of Apocalypse (1995) which focuses on mutants begins with Apocalypse starting a war in North America. At the same time Magneto decides to lead the X-Men to defeat Apocalypse and his army of mutants. Unfortunately, the battle of these two mutant factions actually killed many humans in the process. In this story we can also see Havok and Cyclops who finally choose to ally themselves with Apocalypse. This event that lasted for almost a year managed to make the world’s population in the comics decrease drastically.
War of the Realms
It’s still quite fresh in the fans’ memories, how the events of War of the Realms (2019) managed to shake Nine Realm. The beginning of the story itself begins with the Dark Elf Malekith who almost controls all realms, except for Midgard aka Earth. In order to complete his conquests, he invites a number of powerful races, including the Frost Giants and Fire Goblins, to attack Earth. Lots of superheroes have put up their bodies to defend Earth, including Thor, Black Knight, Namor, and many more. This great battle was only finished after Malekith and his army were defeated.
Age of Ultron
Shortly after Ultron returned to Earth to seek revenge in the comic Age of Ultron (2013), he immediately managed to wipe out billions of human lives and trigger an even bigger battle against the superheroes. So frustrated, Wolverine even went to time travel to the past to kill the creator of Ultron, Hank Pym. However, these efforts did not succeed in canceling Ultron’s existence. After shoppingmode Avengers defeated Intelligencia and released a virus that could kill Ultron, then the future was saved and the army of cruel robots.
In 1972, Marvel presented a story that focused on the war between two powerful alien races, the Skrulls and the Kree. As time went on, this war eventually began to drag on Earth and its superheroes, including shopping mode Avengers, Inhumans, and Fantastic Four. In his quest to stop the war, superhero Rick Jones manages to stop the Skrulls with his Destiny Force. Feeling that the war was not over if the two races still existed, most of the Avengers agreed to defeat the Kree leader as well, namely Supreme Intelligence, before they finally returned to Earth.
Annihilation is the bloodiest event in the Marvel Universe that occurred in 2006. The story begins with the supervillain Annihilus who released the Annihilation Wave, killing billions of living beings in the universe. With the new abilities he acquired after absorbing Galactus’ cosmic energy, Annihilus plans to annihilate the galaxy. However, his plan is met with resistance from a joint team of superheroes and galactic supervillains. Such as Nova, Star-Lord, Ronan the Accuser, Silver Surfer, and so on. Although in the end Annihilus died, it did not succeed in bringing back the souls and planets that had died.
Those are the seven bloodiest events in the Marvel Universe that have caused many deaths and also destruction. While there are many more epic battles at Marvel, none of them have had as great an impact as these seven stories. Fortunately, each of these battles was successfully completed by the superheroes, as well as the supervillains who helped him. Although the victims did not manage to revive them, at least they managed to avoid more severe losses, of course, with sacrifices that were not easy either.
