Minuta věčnosti

The new film by screenwriter and director Rudolf Havlík (What Men Want, Bábovky) tells the story of top surgeon Peter (Jiří Langmajer) and his 21-year-old daughter Lucia (Martina Babišová). He had a congenital heart defect and Petr decided to operate on it himself. After the operation, they set out together on an adventurous expedition to a beautiful Nordic island. Here they had enough time to find each other’s way again, as Lucie didn’t have much contact with her father anymore and she was still worried that he had left her mother. However, one day, Lucie suddenly collapsed in the middle of the wild. Petr suddenly wasn’t sure if he had made a mistake during the operation.

Minuta věčnosti online is a relatively unusual phenomenon from the viewpoint of contemporary Czech cinematography. It is a very intimate and intimate dramatic story of two people (besides Langmajer and Babišová, hardly anyone else appears in the film), who explore almost the entire film around Iceland together. At the same time, they discuss their lives, try to get closer, solve their family and relationship problems, etc. But most of the time there is a suspicion in the air that with the story we are watching, it might be a little different. than it seems at first glance.

So far, Rudolf Havlík has profiled himself primarily as a writer of romantic-comedy works aimed at various audiences. Minuta věčnosti is distinctly different from his previous film work, and from the point of view of the audience, who especially appreciates the artist’s efforts not to bet on certainty, but instead to come up with a new and unobtrusive concept, perhaps the most interesting and ambitious.
