Spider-Man No Way Home is officially the first pandemic-era film to break the $1 billion box office mark. The record came just 12 days after its release on December 15, 2021.
According to Box Office Mojo’s report, Monday (27/12) Indonesian time, Spider-Man: No Way Home globally earned US$1.054 billion or equivalent to Rp14.9 trillion (US$1=Rp14,219).

This figure is the highest since the pandemic hit in early 2020. In 2020, the highest-grossing film globally was held by Chinese film The Eight Hundred, with US$461.4 million.
Then in 2021, before being grabbed by Spider-Man No Way Home, the highest-grossing film globally was the Chinese war film, The Battle at Lake Changjin, with revenues of US $ 902.5 million.
Now the war film directed by three directors is the second highest-grossing film in 2021.
Spider-Man’s fantastic run comes after this week’s earnings, the Spider-Man earned $81.5 million from a domestic weekend in North America.

That’s down 65 percent from a fantastic debut weekend of $260.1 million. Now, Spider-Man No Way Home has earned $467.3 million in the domestic North American market.
While in the international market, Spider-Man No Wah Home has collected US $ 587.1 million or equivalent to 55.7 percent since its release.
Spider-Man: No Way Home tells the story of the dilemma that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) feels after he is slandered and his identity exposed by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) before dying in a fight in London.
