Movie Is Fake: ‘The Tinder Swindler’ has spoken out for the first time about the movie

The man who has become known to the world as ‘The Tinder Swindler’ has spoken out for the first time.

The Netflix documentary of the same name tells the story of Simon Leviev, who stole thousands from countless unsuspecting women.

It centres on three women who matched with him on the dating app and were all tricked into handing over hundreds of thousands of pounds to fund his lavish lifestyle and help him con others into falling for him.

But speaking to Inside Edition, Leviev, who is now dating a model, has claimed that he’s no crook.

In a clip from the yet-to-be-aired interview, he said: “I’m not a Tinder Swindler.

“I’m not a fraud and I’m not a fake. People don’t know me – so they cannot judge me.

“I was just a single guy that wanted to meet some girls on Tinder.”

Since the film landed, viewers have been left scratching their heads as to how Leviev – real name Shimon Hayut – was able to get away with his crimes for so many years.

However, his new manager recently told LADbible that the whole story hasn’t yet been told.

Gina Rodriguez said her client has ‘evidence’ that will prove he is innocent.

She told us: “He looks forward to clearing his name and sharing his side.”

Ms Rodriguez said that she signed him on 14 February – Valentine’s Day – after having watched the documentary, which she felt didn’t explain everything.

She said: “I watched the Netflix documentary on 13 February and I was intrigued with the story but I had a lot of unanswered questions.

“I was curious as to what Simon’s side of the story was since it was not featured in the show.

“So I searched for him on Instagram and I found his profile and messaged him. He did not reply until Monday 14 February.”

Ms Rodriguez also revealed that Leviev is now looking at opportunities to use his newfound fame to make a name for himself in Hollywood.

And she said that there were already talks ongoing to get him on the big screen.

She said: “We are currently in talks for several projects – television and movies.”

Ms Rodriguez confirmed that Simon is discussing the idea of ‘hosting a dating show’ and that there had been ‘a lot of interest’ from film studios about working with him.

But while Simon looks to advance his career in the States, his victims are still looking to recoup some of their losses.

A GoFundMe page set up by Cecilie Fjellhøy, Pernilla Sjoholm and Ayleen Charlotte has reached over £140,000 ($190,000).

The trio set up the page with the goal of making £600,000 ($816,000), having lost thousands to Leviev.

The Tinder Swindler is available to watch on Netflix now.
