Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa Divorce Sounds Very Chill

It has been less than two months since Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet “freed each other” from their marriage. And in those two months, there have already been (very unconfirmed) rumors that the two are back together. However, one thing has remained constant amid the “squeeze and changes of these transformational times” they mentioned in their now-deleted divorce announcement: These two are still extremely chill and cordial.

On Tuesday, Momoa attended The Batman premiere with his two kids, Lola, 14, and Nakoa-Wolf, 13, both of whom he shares with Bonet. “We’re just so proud,” Momoa told Entertainment Tonight, speaking about Zoë Kravitz, who plays Selina Kyle in the movie. Kravitz is, of course, the daughter of Bonet and Lenny Kravitz. It should be illegal to have so many hot people in one family, but I digress. Momoa continued, “Lisa couldn’t be here, so we’re representing, me and the babies. We’re very excited to just be here … It’s still family, you know?” Totally, Jason.

Momoa’s comment — which seems to imply that he and Bonet are still separated — is unsurprising, since Bonet’s divorce with Lenny Kravitz seemed equally chill. It will come as little shock that Kravitz and Momoa were fast friends. I repeat: Lots of hot, chill people in this family.

While the idea of your mom’s ex hanging out with your current boyfriend is usually cause for an ulcer, the relationship between Jason Momoa and Channing Tatum, who is dating Zoë Kravitz, has proven to be incredibly endearing.

Jason Momoa Gave an Update on His Reported Reconciliation With Lisa Bonet

We’ve observed for a while that family is at the heart of practically everything Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet do. And despite the couple’s January split, they’re still putting family first. That couldn’t have been more clear than when Momoa attended last night’s premiere of The Batman in New York City, which stars his stepdaughter Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/ Catwoman. The Game of Thrones alum took to the red carpet with his kids Lola, 14, and Nakoa-Wolf, 13, whom he shares with Bonet. While attending the event, the actor offered an update on where he and Bonet stand.

During his chat with Entertainment Tonight, Momoa expressed that he was “so proud” of his stepdaughter, whom Bonet shares with ex Lenny Kravitz. “Lisa couldn’t be here so we’re representing, me and the babies,” Momoa continued, referencing the former couple’s two teens. “We’re very excited to just be here.” While Momoa wasn’t completely upfront with the update on his relationship with Bonet, he did share “it’s still family,” alluding to the incredibly close bond he, Bonet, and their blended family will always share.

Momoa’s comments and attendance at the premiere were nothing but supportive of Kravitz, and seemingly indicate that, despite their split, he and Bonet will always be close. But recently, fans have been wondering whether or not the two are giving their marriage another chance. A recent report claimed Bonet and Momoa are back together, though neither party has confirmed the reported reconciliation.

Regardless, it really seems the two are in a positive place. Prior to their split, Momoa and Bonet were together for roughly 16 years, including five years of marriage. Although they’ve protected certain aspects of their relationship from the public eye, Momoa and Bonet have nevertheless been open about celebrations, milestone moments, and the pair’s recent split. Breakups are difficult; add on top of that the public scrutinizing every word and it can seem unbearable. But through it all, these two seem to be keeping their priorities in line — putting their family above everything else.

Jason Momoa Says He and Lisa Bonet Are ‘Still Family’ After Split

In it together. Nearly two months after announcing his split from wife Lisa Bonet, Jason Momoa clarified that they are “still family.”

The Game of Thrones alum, 42, spoke of the 54-year-old actress while attending the premiere of her daughter Zoë Kravitz’s latest film, The Batman.

“We’re just so proud. Lisa couldn’t be here so we’re representing, me and the babies,” the Hawaii native told Entertainment Tonight, referencing daughter Lola, 14, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 13. “We’re very excited to just be here. … It’s still family, you know?”

The actor was all smiles with his children on the red carpet, rocking a maroon suit. Momoa’s eldest child, for her part, sported a checkered dress to the event, while Nakoa-Wolf wore a Bob Marley tee.

The Baywatch alum and Bonet called it quits in January, four years after they tied the knot in California. The pair released a joint statement via Instagram.

“We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring And so~ We share our Family news~ That we are parting ways in marriage,” the duo, who started their romance in 2005, wrote at the time. “We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy ~ But so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty. The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other ~to be who we are learning to become. Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life and our Children. Teaching our Children What’s possible.”

A source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that the duo “were so different,” explaining, “He was jovial, loud and the center of attention, and Lisa was always cool, calm and subdued. That energy really started to cause friction because they wanted to live different lives. Jason wanted to travel and adventure much more. Lisa, she would rather read, write poetry and cook at home.”

The Dune star has showed his support for his stepdaughter, 33, multiple times since his and Bonet’s breakup.

Not only did the Aquaman star tell his Instagram followers in January that he felt “so proud” of Bonet and Lenny Kravitz’s daughter, but he posed with the Los Angeles native’s boyfriend, Channing Tatum, on Monday, February 28.
