Jurassic World Dominion Reveals of Dinosaurs

A new interactive website for Jurassic World Dominion features new video, pictures, locations and story details for the upcoming dinosaur sequel. Dominion is the conclusion of the Jurassic World trilogy, once again directed by Colin Trevorrow and starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. The film will follow the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which saw the release of numerous dinosaurs into the world, free of their cages.

Jurassic World Dominion will also star Campbell Scott as Lewis Dodgson, the CEO of Biosyn who was last seen in 1993’s Jurassic Park. Back then, Dodgson was an employee of Biosyn, an InGen competitor that was attempting to get dinosaur embryos from John Hammond’s island in order to replicate and grow their own creatures. In Fallen Kingdom, dinosaurs had already been removed from the island of Isla Nublar and were sold on the black market, a precursor to the events set to unfold in Jurassic World Dominion.

On Dino Tracker, a new interactive website for Jurassic World Dominion, users can view a map of the world, which shows geo-locations of various species that have spread throughout in the four years since the events of Fallen Kingdom. Each location highlights a photo or video of the sighting, shown as recordings captured by everyday civilians with their smartphones or surveillance footage. It’s a clever mix of media that serves as a warm-up to Dominion, giving insight into how far and wide the dinosaurs have spread since the last film. The site also highlights which species are appearing the most, including Brachiasaurus, Triceratops, Pteranadon, Compsognathus, Ankylosaurus, Gallimimus, Apatosaurus, Stegosaurus, Carnotaurus, and more. In addition to dinosaur sightings and locations, the interactive map also reveals some key locations from Jurassic World Dominion, particularly Biosyn’s Headquarters located in the Dolemite Mountains of Italy. The sprawling space looks to be a key site in the film and lists Dodgson as the CEO since 2013. Another noted location is the Dinosaur Black Market in Malta, which displays a hidden camera video of dinosaurs in cages and eggs being incubated. Additional videos show various species interacting with humans all over the world, showing what Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm described as a neo-Jurassic Era at work. This is a clever marketing tool for Jurassic World Dominion, as it not only provides some insight into what the world looks like four years after Fallen Kingdom, but it also gives some story details as well, enhancing the anticipation of what the film has in store. The “viral” style videos are a nice touch and also serve to make it feel like dinosaurs are truly roaming the known world, making the whole concept that much more believable. It appears that the Jurassic World Dominion creative team is going all out for the finale of this trilogy, which might lead to an even bigger one to follow if this one finishes strong.

James Franco To Lead Action Thriller

Rise of the Planet of the Apes and original Spider-Man franchise actor James Franco is set to star in the upcoming action thriller film Mace. The project is being helmed by veteran Hollywood director Jon Amiel, who previously directed notable films such as Entrapment with Sean Connery, and the Bill Murray crime comedy The Man Who Knew Too Little. The film comes from a script written by David Chisholm, and is being produced by Lawrence Steven Meyers, Randy Dannenberg, and John Evangelides.

Deadline, Mace is in pre-production and filming is slated to commence later this year in the New Jersey area. Mace reportedly follows the story of two police officers: Mace, played by Franco, who is corrupt and dangerously unhinged, and Virgil Woods, a young rookie who believes that he can change the system. Woods is inspired by the racial injustice on the streets of America, and refuses to be bullied as he takes on his corrupt counterpart. Mace unleashes a gang war to cover up his crimes, and Woods risks everything he believes in to stop him from destroying the city. The film shares thematic elements similar to that of David Ayer’s End of Watch and the Denzel Washington classic Training Day (which was also written by Ayer).

Myriad Pictures, CEO Kirk D’Amico described Mace as  “…a gritty story set in a modern-day police department where nothing is what it seems. We think that this material in the hands of such an experienced director as Jon Amiel will yield extraordinary results.” No release date or other casting choices have yet been announced for the film. Mace marks Franco’s first leading role since 2019’s Zeroville, as the actor largely stayed out of the public eye after several women accused him of sexual misconduct. Prior to that, he received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for films like 127 Hours and the biographical comedy Disaster Artist, which he also directed.

Smartstream21 and Amazon Fire TV streaming devices add smarts to any TV or monitor that has an HDMI input. These days they’re primarily for 4K video streaming through subscription services like Netflix or HBO Max, but you can turn your home‘s largest screen into an advanced media center with tons of functionality if you know how to make the most of them. We tested several devices from Smartstream21 and Fire TV, pitting them head to head to see which is best in a range of price and functionality tiers.
