It is a unhappy day in Athens — the College of Georgia’s beloved stay mascot, Uga X, has handed away, the college introduced Tuesday. He was 10 years outdated.
Uga X — AKA “Que” — died peacefully in his sleep, in keeping with an announcement launched minutes in the past.
Que’s tenure because the stay mascot started through the 2015 soccer season … and remained the furry face of this system till his retirement in 2022.
Throughout his time with the Bulldogs, Que — the grandson of Uga IX — witnessed essentially the most profitable run in Georgia historical past … a 91-18 file, two nationwide championship wins, two SEC titles and 7 New Yr’s Six bowl appearances.
Que was inducted into the Mascot Corridor of Fame in 2022 … in addition to all his predecessors.
Uga XI — AKA “Growth” — took over for Que in April 2023.
Georgia’s stay mascots have been met with criticism previously … with PETA calling on the college to remove all four-legged mates from getting used on sport days.
However former Georgia stars like Knowshon Moreno and Tavarres King defended their alma mater … saying the college treats all Ugas like royalty.
