The film Dune: Part One ends with an ending that is very hanging and needs a continuation. Fortunately, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have finally confirmed that a sequel is coming in 2023.
Known as a dense and long novel, Frank Herbert’s Dune would be too confusing and rushed if it was packaged in one film. Therefore, director Denis Villeneuve decided to divide the novel into two films.

Reporting from ScreenRant, Wednesday (27/10/2021), Denis originally wanted to shoot two films at the same time as Peter Jackson did for Lord of the Rings. However, the plan was rejected by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures who want to see the performance of this film at the box office first before investing fully in this franchise.
“I agreed to shoot only half the story and wait for the audience’s reaction after Dune: Part One. That’s why I put all my energy in this first film and make a work that is as perfect as possible; Just in case this franchise doesn’t continue,” he said some time ago.

Now, in fact, Dune has managed to attract the attention of many audiences and has been praised as the film with the best visuals this year. Seeing the enthusiasm of fans, Legendary announced the progress of the Dune: Part Two project via Twitter last night.
“This is just the beginning… / Thank you to those of you who have watched Dune and to those of you who will be watching in the weeks to come. We can’t wait to continue the adventure!” wrote Legendary via their official Twitter account.
