Film Fans Have To Wait A Longer For The Film “National Treasure 3” It’s Not Clear When It Will Start Production

Fans of the films “National Treasure” and “National Treasure: Book of Secrets” who have wanted to see the continuation of the story are certainly curious as to why the film was not continued into the third installment. This is because the two films have arguably been financially successful.

Many fans assume a number of advanced adventures will be developed. But unfortunately, the film’s cast, Nicolas Cage recently pointed out that the disappointing reception for several other big-budget films resulted in The Walt Disney Company studio losing interest in pursuing more films in the series.

“The phone stopped ringing. It was like, ‘What do you mean we’re not working on National Treasure 3? It’s been 14 years. Why not?'” Cage said to GQ. “Well, like the not-so-successful Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and Ghost Rider which didn’t really sell tickets. And the Angry Drive that just came and went.”

The concept hasn’t been completely abandoned, as there’s a “National Treasure” TV series coming to Disney+, although it doesn’t look like fans will be seeing Cage reprising his role as Benjamin Franklin Gates anytime soon.

However, he went on to note that he wasn’t entirely disappointed by the lack of updates, as independent and ambitious projects appealed to him more. “I enjoyed making films like Pig and Leaving Las Vegas more than I enjoyed working on films like National Treasure,” continued Cage.

While being a part of the Disney family definitely provides a lot of opportunities, it also comes with some challenges. Disney production executive Jason Reed previously explained that the franchise was more difficult to market than the more well-known brands.

“I tried my best to get National Treasure 3. I loved those movies. I worked on them from the start,” Reed told Collider. “What I think happened is that while the films were very successful and had a very strong fan base, these are films that are always trying to be picked up, the company was never able to capitalize on as a franchise.”

If Back In The World Of Film Actor Nicolas Cage Wants To Play Egghead And Fight Batman Robert Pattinson

Actor Nicolas Cage has been in the superhero world for a long time playing Johnny Blaze in “Ghost Rider” and “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance”. Although it hasn’t been long since there has been news regarding a possible return to the world of superheroes, he recently revealed which character he wants to play from the comic books.

If he had to return to playing a character from a comic book, Cage could see himself playing Egghead against Batman, played by Robert Pattinson. The character is from Adam West’s Batman TV series and was played by Vincent Price, with the character later appearing in various Batman comics.

Here are 3 films that we recommend besides National Treasure :

Ο Μεσάζοντας (2022)

Ταξίδι στα Αστέρια (2022)

Η Βοή του Κόσμου (2021)

Egghead may well be one of the more absurd characters on Batman’s list of villains. However, Cage is arguably the only actor fans can imagine to actually bring the figure to life in an authentic way.

“I’ve been thinking about it, because there’s a new one in Robert Pattinson as Batman, which I’ve never seen before,” he said at SXSW while talking about superheroes. “But I think he’d make a great villain, the one Vincent Price played in the ’60s show, Egghead.”

Not only claimed to be ready to bring the character to life on the big screen, Cage apparently also had his own concept. “I think I’d like to try Egghead. I think I can make it really scary. And I have a concept for Egghead. So tell them at Warner Bros. I love Egghead,” he continued.

As his name suggests, Egghead is known more for his intelligence than his physical prowess, as well as his bald, egg-shaped head. Given his humble origins, he is also known for injecting egg-related puns into his dialogues, making it a challenge to incorporate into more down-to-earth adventures.

Rumors about the future of “The Batman” could basically make such an opportunity exist in the future in a believable way. In both “The Batman” and based on Matt Reeves’ comments, the “Batman: Hush” storyline has been leaked a bit for future adventures.
