For those of you who like comedy, action and adventure films, have you watched Free Guy? The film, which has been released since last August, tells the life of an ordinary man named Guy who lives in the Free City of the game world, a city in the game.
Free Guy has become one of the most widely enjoyed films by the public. This can be seen from its first broadcast, which succeeded in obtaining ticket sales of USD 26 million or equivalent to Rp. 373.5 billion.
While outside the US, Free Guy earned USD 22.5 million or Rp. 320 billion in its first week. So far, the film has grossed USD 111 million or Rp 1.5 trillion since its release on August 13.
The film, directed by Shawn Levy, stars Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Taika Waititi and Utkarsh Ambudkar. The story in Free Guy starts from the life of an ordinary man named Guy who is a non-player (non-playable character) in a game.
Like other NPCs, Guy has a routine in his life and never changes at all. Even so, Guy was quite satisfied with his life as a bank teller. He also began to feel confused because around him there were many events that felt strange and spectacular. For example, he found someone who could walk with a flamethrower.
However, he was not so affected by what he saw. The life he received suddenly changed when he met a player named Milly (Jodie Comer) who had the code Molotov Girl.
Milly took Guy out of the office and walked downtown. When he paused for a moment, Milly handed him a pair of glasses and told Guy to put them on. Turns out, after putting on those glasses, Guy felt the world he saw was a trick or a game. Milly also tries to convince Guy that the world she is currently seeing is not real, including her.
Unfortunately, the game is in danger of being shut down by the developer, Antwan (Taika Waititi). He also has to become a hero and save his friends from being lost in the game world.
