Patrice Evra asks Manchester United fans to continue supporting Harry Maguire. This was done in order to restore the confidence of the MU captain. Maguire’s role at Manchester United began to be sidelined since the arrival of Erik ten Hag to Old Trafford. The Dutch manager entrusted the team’s defense sector to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
Maguire’s grief only increased when he was sidelined due to injury in September. He was absent for nine matches and only played again when MU met Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League match, Friday (10/28/2022) early morning WIB.
Harry Maguire came on for Lisandro Martinez in the second half. Manchester United ended the duel with a 3-0 victory.
The return of Maguire in the MU defense sector is appreciated by Patrice Evra. The former Red Devils defender believes that Maguire must take advantage of the opportunity to play in order to boost his confidence again, as well as win Erik ten Hag’s sympathy.
“It’s a big opportunity for Harry Maguire. Now, United have Lindelof, Maguire and it’s a big chance,” Evra told Betfair.
“This is a great opportunity for Harry Maguire. The team is working well, and I think because of that, the integration will be easier,” he continued.
“I don’t know if Ten Hag will return the armband because it doesn’t help Harry. When the fans and other people saw him with the armband, everything was already negative.”
Evra claimed to have spoken directly to Maguire. He believes the 29-year-old defender can get up and ask the fans to support him.
“I’ve spoken to Harry, and told him not to give up and he has to get his confidence back. If you are a true United fan, I beg you to give the man a chance and support him.”
“Harry must not fail. If he fails this opportunity, I think he should leave the club. However, I know he can do it and he will have the full support of the manager and the players,” said Patrice Evra.
