Dune Movie Review and Eye-catching Visuals

Dune Movie Denis Villeneuve’s is finally out in theaters. As one of the most anticipated sci-fi films this year, of course, the audience has a lot of expectations for this film. Their expectations were very high. Moreover, Dune has been touted as the best sci-fi film of the year. It is very suitable for us to watch during this pandemic which requires us to stay at home.

That assumption is partly not wrong. At least from the visual side, this film offers a view that is indeed a feast for the eyes. Although 90% of this film is set in the desert, the action scenes, the technology used and the events in the desert are the main visual attractions in this film. The many surprise scenes that spoil our eyes as viewers.

The vastness of the desert with thousands of mysteries in it will obviously bring the audience to play with their own imagination. However, Dune also uncovers the desert’s greatest threat: giant worms that prey on anything that makes a sound in their frequency. The worm was very big. He could swallow a giant pennant machine and its contents. That said, the length reaches 400 meters. It’s really scary if there is such a creature in the world for him that only exists in this film.

The presence of the Ornithopter, a dragonfly-like helicopter in this film is also entertainment in itself. Denis nicely showed how the helicopter operates. The wings can close and open when operated. This helicopter is also very similar to a dragonfly. Unfortunately, not many other planes are explored in this film. If there were other technologies it might add something unique to this film.

Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet), the son of Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac) from his official concubine, Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson). Paul is often haunted by strange dreams about a girl in Arrakis (Zendaya).

Arrakis, which despite being a desert, has a huge spice mine on it. The population of Arrakis are mostly Fremen who have always been oppressed. The planet was originally ruled by the cruel Harkonnen family. However, the Emperor then ordered them to leave the planet. He appointed the Atreides family to rule Arrakis.

However, Duke Leto never knew what was behind the emperor’s plan to send him to Arrakis. Even so, Duke Leto tried to carry out his duties well. He also tried to embrace Fremen, a native of Arrakis. Unfortunately, his efforts were in vain.
