Coachella’s second weekend kicked off Friday at the Empire Polo Club — and luckily, fans experiencing serious FOMO over missing Weekend One’s surprise guests were treated to a few unannounced appearances of their own. Baby Keem pulled out all the stops for his evening performance in the festival’s Sahara Tent when he brought oout Kendrick Lamar during his set. Videos posted on Twitter show Lamar emerging onstage surrounded by large projections of fire as the crowd, slowly realizing who was on stage, starts to collectively freak out.
Harry Styles’ ‘Watermelon Sugar’ a Tequila, The Mexican band had laughed at the Styles-related memes about the group after Coachella announced both artists were performing on the same day. When Coachella announced its lineup earlier this spring, fan-made memes of takuache Harry Styles rockin’ a cowboy hat, boots and singing along to Grupo Firme quickly went viral on Mexican TikTok and paisa Twitter. Well, a Styles-Firme crossover is finally here. Rolling Stone can announce that the Mexican band, fronted by Eduin Caz, is dropping a Spanish cover of “Watermelon Sugar” as an Amazon Original at midnight Thursday, appropriately titled “Sabes a Tequila.” Available exclusively on Amazon Music, the cover reimagines Styles’ hit song as a Banda-style track, with Caz’s vocals accompanied by the full band as he sings new lyrics to fit Firme’s style. “No es tomar por tomar/si en tu boca yo me quiero enborrachar. Sabes a tequila, ay,” Caz sings in place of Styles’ “I’m just thinking out loud/I don’t know if I could ever go without/Watermelon sugar, high!”

Aespa Make Their Coachella Debut, On Saturday night, management company and record label 88rising once again brought K-pop to the Coachella main stage, with an appearance by the girl group Aespa. The quartet — Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning — debuted in November, 2020, in the thick of the pandemic, which hasn’t exactly afforded them many opportunities to perform live. That meant that Aespa’s Weekend Two appearance at Coachella — part of 88rising’s Head in the Clouds Forever showcase — was a highly anticipated event. Aespa’s set was announced just after Weekend One came to a close, as social media posts teasing an L.A. trip created rampant speculation among fans. Though the group appeared at last year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, tonight’s performance was much larger in scale, with throngs of fans showing up in Aespa gear to give the girls a warm welcome.
