Jurassic World Dominion star Chris Pratt details his ideal death by dinosaur scene. The upcoming film from director Colin Trevorrow is the latest in the Jurassic World series, itself a continuation of the franchise that began with Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park in 1993. After experiencing some pandemic-related production delays, Jurassic World Dominion is scheduled to hit theaters on June 10. While many fans are excited to see the original Jurassic Park cast return alongside current stars Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, the main draw for the franchise has always been the dinosaurs. The Jurassic World Dominion trailers and posters have exemplified this, often highlighting the various prehistoric creatures now unleashed upon the world over the movie’s human stars. Indeed, some of the most memorable scenes from the original movie tend to be various death by dinosaur scenes, particularly that of Wayne Knight’s Nedry at the hands of the Dilophosaurus.
Now, in an interview for Jake’s Takes, Pratt reveals how he would stage his own death by dinosaur scene. When prompted to choose which dinosaur should take him down, the actor jokes that he’d want several small ones to attack him at once, and that the entire scene should last for at least 45 minutes. That, he says, is the best opportunity for him to show off his acting ability. The interviewer could film it right there with his phone, if he could only arrange payment with his agent. This Jurassic World death scene is hilarious to imagine, but if Pratt’s Owen Grady were to meet his end in Jurassic World Dominion, this is certainly not how it would go down. The franchise does have some pretty undignified dinosaur kill scenes, including the Jurassic Park lawyer being eaten by a T-Rex while on the toilet, but the current series protagonist would likely receive a much more noble death.
However, given that Pratt says Jurassic World Dominion ends the franchise, death by dinosaur isn’t out of the cards for Owen. Now that they have been unleashed on the Earth and are looking to reestablish themselves as the planet’s apex-predators, humanity faces an existential threat, and it would only be surprising to end with a dinosaur victory because it seems pretty bleak for a Hollywood blockbuster. While it’s more likely that the main characters find some way out of this mess, viewers can count on getting plenty of death by dinosaur scenes before that happens.
