Cadillac Cars And Luxury Quality On Offer

Part of the General Motors Corporation, and manufactured and mostly sold in the United States, Cadillac is a luxury car brand. And in the United States, this luxury car brand name has become a synonym for “high quality”. Of course, because of this, it has been used in certain terms and phrases such as “Cadillac of clocks”. Cadillac was formed from the Henry Ford Company, and the car is named after the 17th century French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac, who founded Detroit, Michigan in 1701.

One vehicle that uses the Cadillac name is the Cadillac Escalade. The vehicle is a luxury spinoff of the Chevrolet/GMC large SUV, and is available in three trim levels – the basic SUV wagon, the longer Escalade ESV wagon and the Escalade EXT pickup truck. The first two versions are sports utility vehicle cars that have three rows of seats and can accommodate seven passengers. The Cadillac Escalade EXT, on the other hand, is a four-door crew cab pickup truck. Similar to the Chevrolet Avalanche, it has a “midgate” wall between the cabin and the cargo bed.

All versions of the Cadillac Escalade have all-wheel drive and a 6.0-liter V8. The base wagon also comes as a 2WD model. All have automatic transmission, front side airbags, ABS, anti-slip/traction control, tire pressure monitor and Cadillac’s auto-adjusting Road Sensing Suspension. Also standard features for all Cadillac Escalade trim levels include a trailer package, power-adjustable gas and brake pedals, rear obstacle detection and OnStar assist. The Escalade ESV Platinum Edition includes features such as a navigation system, rear DVD entertainment, custom display finishes, and 20-inch chrome wheels instead of the standard 17-inch wheels from the Escalade.

Acceleration for this vehicle is adequate although there are occasional transmission delays on full-throttle downshifts. It has a towing capacity of 7,400 lbs. for 2WD Escalades, 8,100 lbs. for the AWD model, and 7,300 for the EXT version. It has an average of 13.7-15.6 mpg in city or highway driving. Vehicles can be quite shocking at times. It’s also very truck-like. The Cadillac Escalade ESV model has a longer wheelbase that provides a smoother feel on rough roads.

According to the steering and handling of the vehicle, it is generally sluggish and has a slow response to steering inputs. It has a light, indistinct steering that demands constant attention on the highway. In addition, it has the standard rear grading suspension and improves control under heavy loads. The brakes, however, feel soft but have adequate power.

It provides good insulation from wind, road and engine noise. It also offers plenty of head and legroom and wide shoulder width. Luxurious chairs with folding armrests complete the interior. A commanding road view is provided to the driver, and added to an audio/visual rear obstacle detection system that helps alert the unseen when reversing the vehicle.
