Brendan Fraser Called to Be a Villain in Batgirl Film

Actor Brendan Fraser is said to be joining the Batgirl film project being worked on by Warner Bros. and DC. Although not yet fully confirmed, sources say the actor will play the villain Firefly.
If Fraser agrees to join, he will meet with Jacob Scipio who recently agreed to join, then Leslie Grace who plays Batgirl, and the directors of Bad Boys for Life, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

Deadline on Monday (25/10) US time stated that the film will be on HBO Max and as one of the first major DC projects to debut exclusively on the streaming service.

Batgirl will tell the story of Commissioner Gordon’s daughter, Barbara Gordon, who will become the character Batgirl. This character was first introduced in 1961 as Betty Kane.

But in 1967 the character of Betty Kane in the TV Series ‘Batman’ was changed to Barbara Gordon because she wanted to attract a female audience. But this impression faltered in the third season.

He brings a character named Richard O’Connell, who is a former soldier who later helps Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel Weisz) on an expedition to find the mummy’s grave.

Not only in the first film, Fraser also appeared in two other films, namely The Mummy Returns (2001) and Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008). After starring in Line of Descent in 2019, Fraser briefly disappeared from Hollywood.

He only appeared again in 2021 through the film No Sudden Move, and a number of other projects that are scheduled to be released some time in the future. One such project is the film The Whale, directed by Darren Aronofsky.

Not only that, Fraser will also play a role in the film Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese. The film also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

Batgirl is expected to be released on HBO Max sometime in 2022.
