Sing 2 is an animated musical comedy film produced by Illumination. This is the sequel to the first film Sing (2016) which was nominated for the 2017 Golden Globes in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture category.
112 minutes long, Sing 2 is distributed by Universal Pictures and premiered at the American Film Institute (AFI) on November 14, 2021.
The film is written and directed by Garth Jennings and stars Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Nick Kroll, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, Nick Offerman and Jennings, who reprise their roles from the first film. The sequel will also feature new characters voiced by Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, Eric André, Chelsea Peretti, and Bono. Like the previous film, Sing 2 features songs from multiple artists, most of which are performed on a dietetic basis.

Synopsis Sing 2, Buster Moon and his rocker friends prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza in the capital. There was only one hitch, they had to first persuade the world’s most secretive rock star Clay Calloway to join them.
Buster (Matthew McConaughey) has turned the New Moon Theater into a local hit, but Buster is after a bigger prize: starting a new show at the Crystal Tower Theater in the glamorous Redshore Town. With no connection, Buster and his friends, including rushing pig mother Rosita (Reese Witherspoon), rocker hedgehog Ash (Scarlett Johansson), gorilla Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy elephant Meena (Tori Kelly) and of course, pig provocateur. Gunter (Nick Kroll) must sneak into the offices of world-famous Crystal Entertainment, which is run by ruthless wolf maestro Jimmy Crystal (Emmy Bobby Cannavale).

In a near desperate attempt to get Mr. Crystal, Gunter spontaneously comes up with an outrageous idea which Buster quickly executes, promising that their new show will star lion rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono). The thing is, Buster has never met Clay, the artist who shut himself off from the world more than a decade ago after losing his wife.

Worse, Buster failed to realize that Mr. Crystal is an egocentric gangster who would rather knock someone off the roof of a building than be lied to. When Gunter helps Buster dream of an extraordinary theatrical masterpiece, and Mr Crystal’s pressure builds, Rosita’s lead role in the show is snatched away and handed over to Mr Crystal’s spoiled daughter, Porsha (Grammy Halsey).

Desperate to save the show, and his life, Buster embarks on a quest to find Clay and persuade him to return to the stage. Sing 2 Release Schedule The Sing 2 film premiered at AFI Fest on November 14, 2021, and is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on December 22, 2021 in RealD 3D, by Universal Pictures.
