The official release date is currently set for February 18, 2022 after a recent setback. Russell, Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, Shawn Levy, Dan Trachtenberg, and Travis Knight signed up to work on the project before it left and the Coronavirus pandemic has made it difficult to pinpoint a calendar date.

Sony has also signed a deal with Netflix for exclusive streaming rights for their future films in the US. If a similar deal happens in the UK, then Uncharted will stream exclusively on Netflix after its theatrical release.

Tom Holland will play Nathan Drake who seeks his fortune and claims to be a descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake. Fellow fortune-hunter Victor Sullivan will be played by Mark Wahlberg after he was originally cast as Nathan Drake when the film went into development in 2010.
